LUPPA 4th edition
(2025)
Throughout each edition, LUPPA is organized as a journey of learning and exchange among municipalities. This journey includes thematic seminars, online workshops, the LUPPA Lab – an in-person immersion and collaboration event among cities – and LUPPA Web, a live-streamed event that marks the end of the cycle and presents the initiative’s next steps.
In the 4th edition (2025), LUPPA brought together 11 cities from nine Brazilian states. The cycle also received support from the mentor cities of Curitiba (PR), Osasco (SP), Recife (PE), Salvador (BA), and São Paulo (SP), which shared experiences and best practices to strengthen the development of local food policies.
Shared experiences and collaborative solutions
The LUPPA Lab is the in-person gathering that marks a pivotal moment in the journey of each edition of the program. Over the course of several days, representatives from participating cities come together to deepen their learning, share experiences, and develop collaborative solutions to the challenges facing urban food systems.
In this edition, the LUPPA Lab was held in Barcarena (PA) from May 19 to 23, 2025.
Closing and next steps
LUPPA Web is an annual live event that marks the conclusion of the LUPPA journey and presents the lessons learned and achievements of that edition of the program, outlining the cities’ next steps on the food agenda.
LUPPA WEB#4 took place on December 10, 2025, and featured representatives from the cities of Barcarena (PA), Santiago (RS), and Belo Horizonte (MG).
