LUPPA 2nd edition
(2022-2023)
Throughout each edition, LUPPA is organized as a journey of learning and exchange among municipalities. This journey includes thematic seminars, online workshops, the LUPPA Lab – an in-person immersion and collaboration event among cities – and LUPPA Web, a live-streamed event that marks the end of the cycle and presents the initiative’s next steps.
In the 2nd edition (2022–2023), LUPPA brought together 10 cities from 9 Brazilian states. The cycle also received support from the mentor cities of Curitiba (PR), Osasco (SP), Recife (PE), Salvador (BA), São Paulo (SP), and Belo Horizonte (BH), which shared experiences and best practices to strengthen the development of local food policies.
Shared experiences and collaborative solutions
The LUPPA Lab is the in-person gathering that marks a pivotal moment in the journey of each edition of the program. Over the course of several days, representatives from participating cities come together to deepen their learning, share experiences, and develop collaborative solutions to the challenges facing urban food systems.
In this edition, the LUPPA Lab was held in São Paulo (SP) from February 1 to 3, 2023.
Closing and next steps
LUPPA Web is an annual livestream that marks the conclusion of the LUPPA journey and showcases the lessons learned and achievements of that edition of the program, highlighting the cities’ next steps on the food agenda.
LUPPA WEB#2 took place on August 9, 2023, and featured representatives from ICLEI South America, the city governments of São Paulo, Barcarena (PA), and Maricá (RJ).
