On December 1, at 3:30 p.m. (Brasília time), we held a seminar on Agroforestry food systems and their dialogue with Food and Nutrition Security public policies, offered by WWF Brasil.
We discussed the following questions:
How can agroforestry systems ensure more resilient and sustainable food production?
How can municipal governments support the implementation of agroforestry systems to foster local food production and/or extractivism?
The seminar was led by Abilio Vinicius Barbosa Pereira, conservation analyst at WWF Brasil, who has experience implementing agroecological and agroforestry food systems in regions such as Mato Grosso, the Federal District, Minas Gerais, Goiás, and Piauí. It also featured Ivanildo Paulino da Silva, a farmer and youth leader from the Camarão settlement in Barreiros-PE, and Marcio Menezes, advisor to Catrapoa AM and Catrapovos Brasil.
