The national call for fundraising for LUPPA is now open. We invite institutions, coalitions and individuals who invest in impact actions related to one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDGs 2, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16 and 17, to financially support our second edition. Does your organization want to take action against hunger, malnutrition and obesity, while also tackling climate change, the environmental impacts of agri-food systems, and unequal access to healthy food? And also: to value the role of cities, local governments and democracy in building and monitoring public policies? Then LUPPA is the project you have been looking for. We are looking for supporters who believe in the power of food systems as catalysts for major socio-environmental transformations. Supporters who believe that collaboration between governments and civil society is essential to guaranteeing rights. Supporters who invest in building an ecosystem of well-informed actors who are aware of the global challenges of food and of local potential. We need people and organizations willing to join us in a collective change driven by the development of municipal public policies. We are looking for organizations that wish to contribute financial resources, and we have broadened the scope of our call to also include partners who can make their contribution in the form of services such as: airfare, accommodation, catering for in-person events, as well as technology services, among others. Interested? Access the call to learn all the details of our call for supporters. LUPPA – Laboratório Urbano de Políticas Públicas Alimentares (Urban Laboratory of Public Food Policies) – is a collaborative platform created to facilitate the development of integrated, participatory municipal food policies with a systemic approach. Its main objective is to support participating cities in developing and refining their roadmap toward building their Food and Nutrition Security Policy, as well as giving visibility to municipal actions, programs and achievements in this area. The first edition of the laboratory, which began in August 2021, brought food to the center of the municipal agenda of 23 cities located in 13 Brazilian states, and also included the participation of 3 mentor cities: Belo Horizonte, Curitiba and Recife, as well as important partnerships: Associação Mercy For Animals Brasil – Programa Alimentação Consciente Brasil, the Group of Studies, Research and Practices in Food Environment and Health of the Federal University of Minas Gerais – GEPPAS/UFMG, Humane Society International, in addition to the methodological partnership with Reos Partners. There were more than 45 hours of activities, including workshops and seminars, in the first LAB, which fostered an engaged network of knowledge and connections on local food policies in Brazil that already has more than 160 participants. Learn more about the first edition here.

Our activities never stop, and we continue to facilitate the exchange of experiences among municipalities, engaging political leaders, public officials and social oversight councils.

Come contribute to our next edition! Contact us to ask questions and schedule an introductory meeting: luppa@comidadoamanha.org
