Rio Branco realiza oficina com representantes da sociedade civil em mais uma atividade apoiada pelo LUPPA

Continuing the work Rio Branco is carrying out together with LUPPA, on Thursday, June 9, the municipal administration met with civil society representatives to announce the upcoming publication of the call for applications to reconstitute the Municipal Food and Nutrition Security Council – CONSEA and to hold a working workshop bringing together civil society and the CAISAN Technical Chamber.

The event was attended by 9 civil society representatives from councils, associations, institutes, foundations, NGOs, organizations and the S System. The workshop focused on listening to their demands and reflecting on the following guiding questions: How can Civil Society and the CAISAN Technical Chamber cooperate to meet the legitimate demands of the population and guarantee the human right to food? What are the priorities?

Participants were divided into groups, and at the end of the activity a harvesting session was held in which the civil society representatives were able to share the progress of the joint work.

These activities reinforce the importance of bringing municipal government closer to local civil society. Creating fairer and more sustainable food systems requires a variety of solutions, and there is no one-size-fits-all model. Each territory has its own challenges and its most central and emerging needs, and the creativity needed to tackle the contemporary challenges of the food system often comes from the voices of organized civil society.
