In this first workshop we talked about Fostering diversified local food production. We used this moment to exchange experiences on public procurement, multifunctional food supply and food security facilities, farmers’ markets and the possibilities of the solidarity economy.
Our agenda began with an Inspiration Pill featuring Chef Teresa Corção, designer and founder of Instituto Maniva, an NGO that pioneered the use of gastronomy as a tool for social transformation.
We discussed: How can municipal governments foster local and diversified food production? To give the Call to debate we welcomed Pedro Gama, a researcher at Embrapa Semiárido in Petrolina-PE. Pedro has experience in Economics, with an emphasis on Development Economics, working mainly on the following topics: production systems, family farming, agri-food chains, rural development, and regional and territorial development.
