
Applications are now open for the selection of cities that will join the 5th edition of LUPPA! Applications are completely free of charge and are open until 10/20. Here we list some important information and a step-by-step guide on how to apply. To take part in the new edition, interested cities must have between 10,000 and 1 million inhabitants and submit a letter of commitment signed by the mayor or deputy mayor, demonstrating interest in developing food systems policies, plans and projects. Up to 10 cities will be selected, with 40% of the spots reserved for municipalities in the Legal Amazon. The selection values territorial diversity, seeking to include cities from all Brazilian biomes. Why take part in LUPPA’s 5th edition? The cities selected for this edition will:
- Take part in a national lab of cities engaged with the agenda of sustainable and accessible food systems, with the possibility of international visibility for their good practices;
- Take part in an immersive gathering, LUPPA LAB, which will bring together representatives of cities from all regions of the country;
- Access content on the various aspects of local food systems;
- Exchange experiences, information and tools with other cities;
- Take part in seminars, training sessions and an inter-municipal mutual support network;
- Take part in a specific selection process to receive technical cooperation from mentor cities;
- And more: benefit from solid support to develop or improve their Municipal Public Policy on Food and Nutrition Security

About LUPPA LUPPA is a collaborative platform and an ongoing learning program to support and enable cities to promote food policies with a systemic approach, in an intersectoral, coherent and participatory way.
